It connects to my phone in seconds once I turn it on. Sound quality is fine too playing from Pandora and 8tracks. Range is fine too as I've walked out of my car with my phone in my pocket without any interruptions.
Best of all, the only wire in the cabin is a short 6" one that goes to the adapter. It sits in the ashtray next to the aux input plug anyway, so if I got creative I could even get the whole thing out of the way.

that is the unit I got from eBay to replace the iLive unit. This one has a slide switch, and I went a step further - I popped the case open and snipped the wires for the internal battery off and hardwired it. Now, everytime I start the engine, the BT unit goes into "ON" state, and the phone instantly connects to it (with iLive model, the unit stayed powered on with internal battery until the juice would run out and then I had hard time reconnecting to it). so far works fine...
