I'm getting a new transmission authorized by BMW over in the Motherland (they opened up a PuMA case on it). It was losing a gear (though very infrequently)when going up hills at like 60 or 70 then transmission would shut down and would have to coast to side of the road, turn if off then on again. They couldn't pinpoint it the other month, told me to take a pic of the error message on the nav screen when it did and bring it back. I did that last Monday and today my SA called and said they got authorization from BMW after trying a software fix. New transmission he said would be about $9,700 normally--and I just got $4K in oil leaks covered with the CPO in January. CPO expires 8/28 this year only a few months away--dodged a bullet.
