As other have said, not a serious offroader, but gravel and some mud is ok i would think, deep mud is a different deal.
I did drive on a trail in MA couple of years back (gravel/some mud)on my 4.8is and did not have any issues, was able to climb some steep hills too.(suspension was set to high setting)
