the lights in the BMWs are using balanced lines fed through MOSFETs inside the LCM - so, when you introduce additional load of the trailer lights, you might get the fast blinking on the turn signals and messages in the cluster.

To minimize the additional load on the circuit, maybe an LED would be beneficial...

The trailer module is an extention of the LCM, it has its own MOSFETs to feed the lights...

does your trailer have LED tail, brake and turn lights?
