I agree with ard, I test drove a few x5 models, to include the x5m, but I fell in love with the basic daily driving characteristics of the diesel. Sure, some of the others had more excitement factor when the go pedal is touching the floor, but I rarely if ever drive like that. The diesel's torque just brings you right up to traffic speed with very little effort which is a very pleasant feeling. Although diesel prices are typically above gas in my area, the added economy of the diesel makes up for that enough for me.
