If the nav screen is white (aka nothing appears?)...how can you see the prompt for the code? Or is white the background color chosen for the screen? Will the OP be able to read the prompts or time counter?

This could also be slightly different issues, too...there is the anti-theft CODE which works in conjunction with EWS...then there's a code scenario when a nav monitor is replaced but not coded correctly or fails.

Hmmm...this appears to be a 2 bagger...I await the conclusion...

BTW..the emergency deactivation of the CODE is either in the owners manual or in the Nav manual (or MID manual if so equipped). Since it could be an anti theft situation...posting the directions to defeat it may not be the wisest thing to do...when the owner normally has the manuals & booklets that explain the procedure.

FYI...if you don't have either of these manuals...a downloadable PDF version is only a google search away.
