Agree.

Personally I would go to an AC shop (NOT a bmw shop) and have them check for leaks and recharge. If they cannot find a leak right away they SHOULD add a dye to the freon so that next time it runs down they will be able to use UV to find the leak.

It is possible for a failing component to destroy other components- so I recommend having it looked at and not doing the walmart special. and that from someone that DIYs everything...
