That's a fair comment - I never keep cars long anyway, so it's not like it's a 'forever' decision.
I was up till 1am trying to read up on potential problems with the N62 4.8.
Maybe I was tired, but hard to get a definite confirmation that the 4.8 does NOT suffer from the timing chain guide issues because they revised the design in 2004 ? Is this true?
From what I read, the main issues on the 4.8 are the coolant pipe leaking under the manifold - and the rear main seal?
