The pyro charge should go off in case of an accident (i am sure that E53 in the recent thread from Brooklyn had the pyro discharge the cable). I am not saying that it would not go off without an accident, but that means that there is some serious malfunction in the system if the pyro fired up without the accident...
and besides, the CODE and the blank monitor...
DSM, you did not say of you have factory navigation in the trunk. Do you? It is located in the left side pocket in the trunk, there should be a unit saying DVD... there also should be a 6-disk changer, a DSP amp, a BT module. are any of those there?
i am trying to figure out if the monitors are happened to be dead, or if there are other issues...
oh, and that power cable - it needs to get fixed, as steven said, if the pyro went off, it will cut off everything fuel related, and the engine will not start, while the other electrical functions will continue to operate...
