Exclamation

thanks i've found threads that clearly states after taking the suv to the dealer they were told this is a common known problem on the x5.
i think and i can be wrong but when you clean out the throttle body and the idle air solenoid you have to drive the vehicle for a few miles so the computer can reset to the new settings compare to before when there was gum build up.at least is what i found on previous bmw when i had 92 325i
i barely see an rpm change when ac is on or off compare when there was no issue so again i suspect idle solenoid.i use a long piece of hose that i put to my ear to listen for vaccume leaks

The last one I've heard is that there could be an unmetered air leak in the intake (I know for a fact this will cause weird engine vibrations) but unmetered leaks usually result in a code or CEL. This is what I have found in the threads. Mine still vibrates because I'm not going to just throw money at the car for a problem (possibly one that is only perceived) that doesn't seem to be too serious.
