2012 35i-carbon from left exhaust

New to me 2012 Certified X5 35i with 30 K miles. Car is white so the black carbon coming from left exhaust is conspicuous.(dealer says there is a baffle so most exhaust comes out the left until at high power). too few miles to tell if engine is using oil.

I find myself having to wash the white cowling under the tip of the left exhaust and the rim of the chrome tip every 50 miles.

Anybody else seeing this? Maybe I should have bought a black car.

I'm going on a 2,000 mile trip through Nevada soon and will have an opportunity to run 80 mph or so for hours at a time. maybe this will help.

this 8 speed transmission is programmed so that the car is at 1200 rpm on our local roads with 45 mph speed limit. 70 mph is only 1700 rpm so I will need to use manual selection to get the rev's up.

thanks for any insight
