Oh dear!!!!! your nav software is now corrupted and the nav unit is dead.
If you have a mk3 then chances are, its kaput, dead, shuffled off its mortal coil, bought the farm, kicked the bucket.
If you have a mk4 then you have a small (and I mean small) chance that you can resurrect it, maybe 5%-10%
You will need a v30 OS disc in mode2/form 1 to even attempt it. Why a v30 OS image?? because you nav unit (even when broken), thinks that it has v31/v32 on it as it was part loaded, so you need a different version to attempt the rescue (as OS updates are a 1 shot deal).
Here is a couple of tips.
1: NEVER LEAVE THE CAR UNATTENDED WHEN DOING AN UPDATE.
2: DO NOT INTERRUPT AN UPDATE WHILE ITS IN PROGRESS.
The update itself takes less than 5 minutes, (less than 3 in most cases).

Why are people holding eject for 3 min?

Because if an update goes wrong (like it has with you), then sometimes the OS disc sticks inside the nav unit (as the OS is corrupted and the eject disc routine is screwed up), you then need to try the manual eject override, (ergo 3miniutes of holding the button).
Try and get hold of a mode2/form1 v30 (or earlier) version of the OS and try the update, it may take a while for the disc to be recognised (up to 5 minutes), so you need to be paitiant.
Also make sure the battery is full or you have it on a tender/charger.
You may be lucky and it might resurrect the mk3 as well, but don't hold your breath, you have maybe a 1% chance with a mk3.
