However, here's my opinion: if you are an average driver, you will never appreciate the subtle benefit, if any, of going from the OE single piston caliper to a dual piston caliper (a four piston, no floating caliper is a different story). The 4.8i has MASSIVE OE front brakes to start with and tend to be very effective.

The other thing: if you bought this car with a CPO, you will never be able to make any claims with respect to the front brake system, because they're not OE.

Let us know how you make out ... I'm very curious what the rotors, pads an sensor will cost.
So after some research on my own and a few phone calls to professionals it seems the brakes on my car are from a 2008 BMW X6 xdrive50i. The company R1Concepts - OEM, Drilled & Slotted Brake Rotors - Brake Pads - Brake Calipers that I purchased the rotors from help me figure it out. They also took the rotors I have back and are sending me the correct ones and pads. Total for the rotors and pads was just under $400.00 shipped and they are paying to ship the old ones back. Now that is costumer service. Considering they didn't make a mistake and spend 30 minutes on the phone figuring out what brakes I had I would have thought I would either eat the cost or the rotors or at least pay to ship them back. I would no doubt purchase from this company again. It's been a while since I had dealings with a company like this.

In case anyone is wondering, it seems 2008 BMW X6 xdrive50i has dual piston calipers and they will work on the 2008 BMW X5 4.8is (most likely all e70's but I know they work on mine).
