Hi from Aus , new member

Hi all.
Rob here from Perth, Western Australia.
Thought I'd better register and contribute .
I have seen this forum a few times in the last 3 years of owning our X5.

Great info, great people and sharing .As I have found with other BMW forum. I was on E46 fanatics with my 330i.
Unfortunately back to 1 BMW in the garage now as having a manual 330i was too much temptation to be silly.

So back to the intro with X5
E53 2005 facelift.
3.0D auto .
Looked for ages at the time to find one with a tidy body and black interior with dark wood grain. Still had the original 17 inch wheels on it.
Quickly changed those to.
19X10 style 68 wheels all round (better than staggered can rotate)
Service history was good , better now being a mechanic myself and doing some research. Lots of stuff had been over looked, all good now.
Mods
So far have and plug in rail chip from UK. Big difference in performance , not the diesel was a slouch but now awesome.
Have also done complete EGR blank, bought a machined replacement from the UK. Nice fit, goes better again . No fault light, does code up but no light and no issues in the nearly 12 months on.
Next , keen to do DPF delete but yet to find direct replacement.

Welcome mate! I'm a relative new comer to the BMW family, having just bought an E53 (2006 4.4) 2 months ago. Love it so far. Still trying to learn about the machine, all it's quirks and issues. I live in the S/W but commute to Perth weekly (FIFO). It would be great to have a contact in the city who knows about these machines and someone a bit more local to bounce ideas off. Cheers...Roger
