Shimmy Shammy Shake that I can't shake it off

I hope it's not rotors...

Preface: Brembo 380mm rotors changed out about a year , a year and a half ago. I've had the Brembo's for quite some time.....so this is not new to me.

In the last 3 months, I've changed the tension bushings *which were slightly torn* and just replaced the whole LCA.

I get a shimmy/shake from any speed with moderate decel...even, from 45-30 decelerating to 10mph.

What am I missing here

Uneven pad transfer? Maybe try to re-bed your brakes?

Did the issue only start when you changed the rotors over? Did you change pads at the same time?

Or did it appear after changing the LCA's and caster arms?

Normally those are the culplrit but if you've eliminated them.....maybe not the cause.

Other thing to check, if your tires are directional, make sure they're running in the right direction. Sounds silly, but I made the mistake recently, reinstalled the fronts wheels on the wrong sides, and it did introduce a shake during braking.

Good points - I assumed he would have replaced the ball joint at the same time as the tension strut.

Only thing left is the tied rods which should be easy to diagnose with some 'side to side' swinging on the steering wheel.

Got new tie rods-new BJ came with them...

As I think about it, when I replaced the LCA, the shimmy went away.
It's more pronounced post tie rod swap.

I think these ball joints were mentioned by 4.8isX5

If those are bad you should hear the clunk going over bumps or even when you come to stop even from rolling. It usually does it going either forward or backing up.

Were the tension strut's bushing pressed in properly, they are directional. Were they torqued under the load?

Yes i was talking about the balljoints that tension strut attaches to. Im at 101k and did not do anything suspension wise except for 2 front arnott bags, and replacing tension struts at 85k in the front because upon initial brake youd get a small jolt in the steering wheel.

I recently did my front brakes as well (pads and rotors) and im getting the shimmy as well sometimes... But i know those balljoints are shot and probably causing it. Im just waiting yet since ill do a whole refresh in one shot.
