RedLine D4

There are no new threads in the forum about D4. I wish to know if there are any active users in the forum who have Redline in their transmission?

Any comments? I have friends using it but their transmissions are not ZF.

Regards

+1 for my GM5 AT

1st Redline D4 / OE Filter kit @70k miles, 2.5 years ago
Now with 94k miles. Depending on the X5 in the next 5 yrs, / 130k miles, I will probably do it again.

Longest trips since the fluid and filter kit maintenance.

Nice to hear somebody use it because I will need a lot of it I don't have any idea what kind of fluid in my transmission. I am very suspicious that it is replaced before I am planning to change it 2 times or maybe 3.

Thanks for info

Why not use the oil specified by the transmission manufacturers?

ZF Lifeguard 5/6 for the V8's depending on year, or Dexron VI for the I6's.

I will try to have a sample of fluid from the transmission to understand what type of fluid they put before.

Transmission is a 6hp28X with a metal pan. I searched every where and no BMW X5 users have this tranny with a metal pan, I am thinking as the pan belong to a 6HP26x and fluid is already refilled before.

This fact made me go for a cheaper fluid, I think I will refill it 2-3 times.

regards
