Bad Final Stage Unit for heater motor

Hi,

I have been hearing a fan buzzing noise that constantly runs whether car is on or off. Dealer said it is blower motor resistor not turning off, can drain battery if not replaced.

So just had service done at Dealer for Final Stage Unit replacement (heater blower). Dealer charged 295.00 for part and 395.00 for labor. Found a video on how to replace the FSU and cannot believe how much I was charged for the work.

BTW, when I got the car back I still hear same fan blower noise as before and am taking car back to dealer to troubleshoot again.

Fan noise

I too heard a fan noise with the key out of the ignition and replaced my final stage which did not eliminate the noise.
Turns out there is a fan inside the IKHA unit which needs to be cleaned and lubed then noise will be gone.
Check this thread for more details.
