Spots on navigation screen

So, I've owned my X5 since 03 and I've had problems with my navigation screen getting bad pixels and burnt looking spots. I've replaced the screen 3 different times and even place complete head unit to a different unit. So I know I live in Arizona and the screen has direct sun light on the screen. I'm I just having bad luck with screens from EBay or what? My screen was stolen 8 years ago and the dork pulled the plugs off back and that may have caused this problem. Not sure what to do? Any help or suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks

There must be something wrong. I don't think it's a coincidence that the screens (even with different head unit) keep having damage. Can't really tell why though. Maybe it's time to go aftermarket.

So the X5 is 16 years old and the display is sitting in direct sun light. Especially in Arizona has anyone else had this problem? I have a dsp system going aftermarket will it still work?
Thanks

Had some dead pixels also... You need to replace the display itself, otherwise you are replacing an 10 year old one by another 10 year old one

Here is how to replace it: http://www.xoutpost.com/article/E53%...eplacement.pdf

You need a SHARP LQ065T9BR51U - and really exactly that one! Attention if you buy from chinese sellers, some are sending you slightly different ones (like LQ065T9BR51, LQ065T9BR54, ...) which will basically work but they are designed for a different viewing angle and therefore won't work well in the e53. So make sure you will get the right one.

DSP won't work with an aftermarket system - at least not out-of-the-box or in an easy way...
And using an aftermarket system will make some features unavailable or at least difficult to use (DSP, Aux Heating, Phone, BC, CDC, ...) - exceptions to all of this may be a Dynavin System which won't be cheap and I haven't used it, so no experiences from my side.

So I purchased 2 new screens from eBay and replaced them over the 13 years I guess the Arizona heat is not navigation screen nice. I guess it's time to replace one last time and sell my X5 because it sits to much collecting heat.
