Wood and Leather Wheel Again

Okay, I give up……………..

I recently took the X5 to the dealer to have the wood insert (they ordered using the vin number) installed on my sport steering wheel. The tech asked me to look at the wheel and there was about a 1/4”+ gap between the bottom two legs of the wood insert and the back portion of the steering wheel, so they reinstalled the black plastic insert.

Now they are saying I need to purchase the entire leather and wood sport wheel, which is $650 and that isn’t happening any time soon.

I recently read a post on the installation of the titanium insert into the spot wheel and it fit fine. Is it possible the dealer ordered the wrong part, or do you need to replace the entire wheel for the wood upgrade?
