Valve stem seals finally done - now bad idle :(

Hey guys - finally finished my valve stem seals after the joys of losing one small bit for a day and then having a valve drop in that I manged to get back out via the inlet manifold to head post.

Anyways started up today and tapped for about 30 seconds (im guessing a dry tappet / lifter ?

That went away but the idle is not smooth and light throttle smakes it try to stall.

Scanned for codes and got 002A89 DME exhaust vanos 2.

Cleared a few times but keeps coming back and also had a code for intake vanos 2 but thats not reappeared ?

I did the stem seals with the AGA kit so have not touched the timing chain, cams or vanos units.
Also dont think I mixed up the cam position sensors on the back of the covers.
Have I missed something or messed something up ?
