Question Retrofit monitor

Okay so im confused and hoping for some help here, i bought my e53 a year ago now and i love it!!! 🤗 I am now wanting to put in the retrofit monitor headunit. To which i have got one on its way now. I have been told that nothing is going to work on it unless i have the wiring loom and the navi boot part. Now i know that i can watch tv, cant use the nav until them parts are bought. So does that mean that the radio will not work either?! Im hoping is going to plug and play into the designated slot on the dashboard.

Many thanks

The newbie

Rhys

Welcome!

Rather than install outdated technology, that still works but is cumbersome, you might want to consider looking at a Dynavin aftermarket unit. There is an ongoing thread as it seems to be the choice of the majority.

I second going aftermarket. I have the stock nav and it is worthless.
