2005 X5 4.4i rough idle P6-01

I've been doing some research on my rough idle issue and I've read lots of solutions here (thanks) but I wanted to see if this P6-01 code on the dash has anything to do with it.

BACKGROUND: Car was running fine. Went into the store, came out fired it up no problem. Then it got exciting. It wouldn't shift out of gear; like it was stuck in that gear. All of the dash light were lit up like crazy. Tried putting into sport shift mode but nothing worked. Limped home parked it in the garage.

PRESENT: It sat for 10 days in the garage and I fired it up. Super rough idle but no light on dash. Plugged in my OBD2 reader and no codes. Disconnected battery and tried it again. Ran smoother but still missing. No error coded thrown but I did see P6-01 show up on the dash panel.

I looked up the P0601 code and it references the PCM. It that my problem? How much do these cost and is it a reasonable DIY?

can you take a pic of the P-6 light you are referring to? I am From Greeley if you need any help let me know
