What is happening. While driving I often get 3 beaps.

While driving I often get 3 quick beaps. I look for check engine lights or warning lights don't see anything. I press the right black pin sticking out near the guage and it reads check control o.k. It is while driving (not at start up)

So what is happening? what are the beaps for?? I know a single ping or beap is alarmed when the temp reach 37 deg F for freeze warning.

thanks

My bet is either the 'Memo' function or the Maximum speed on nav equipped board computers. (I can't recall is non Nav has max speed warning settings or not.

The standard MID does have speed warning beeps but it's a single alert chime, not three beeps.

BT pairing dropping out or something?

Top of the hour chime probably. Check the clock next time you hear it.

No beeps with BT upair. If the standard MID doesn't have speed, it's probably Memo setting.

3 beeps is the HOUR MEMO warning as others mentioned above. Next time you hear it, take a look at the clock...15 seconds after hearing the 3 beeps...the time should change to the top of the hour.

OBC TEST 13 plays all of the Gong's tones...the 3 beeps is the HOUR MEMO warning...is this what you're hearing?

You leave no vehicle info (model/model year/build date) listed which might give a clue as to how your X is configured (Nav or MID) because both have an icon illuminated that indicates when the HOUR MEMO is initiated.

You don't have to wait for 15 seconds before the hour when you know what the hour memo icon looks like.

If you have the MID:

{Tone signal is to the right of the hour in pic of MID below }

If you have Nav...again the tone icon for the hour memo is located to the right of the posted hour along the bottom of the nav screen.
