Question Panoramic sunroof question

05/2006 build date, LHD.

Sunroof has apparently lost power (fuse is good, so my guess is the motor is shot). The sunshade is retracted all the way back. Is there any way to manually move it forward? I'm going out of town for work for a few months and wouldn't mind having the interior protected from the sun while I'm gone.

Thanks in advance!

Good day!!

I'm not positive about the panoramic sunroof, but all the others I have seen from BMW have a zig-zag (or how ever you would describe it) wrench in the tool area... That allows you to hand crank the motor for the sunroof... I suspect it would work the shade too... Might be in the owners manual somewhere...

Cheers!!

I tried that but with no power apparently going to the motor, nothing happens when I use the switch.

It doesn't mean that there is no power in the motor if nothing happens! Press button inside and wait or check power with needle screwdriver! (If u r sure about fuses) U can take 2 wires and put them directly for motor wires!
If it doesn't close u can use sun roof tool to use it manually!

I've tried pressing the button (vent mode) for as long as a minute and nothing. I've also changed the fuse and nothing.
From what I can tell, you can't close the sunshade by manually operating the motor.

Is there anything I can do?

The shade will close with the manual cranking mode after the glass closes. Just keep on turning it. My pano roof went bad and that's how I closed everything. Just pull down the headliner slightly in the rear accessed from the rear hatch and you will see the motor. Put the tool inside the center of the motor crank. It takes forever but you will get there.
