Ok--what Is This For??

Waiting in traffic this afternoon, I spy this obviously designed element on the Driver's side wiper...WTF is this thing for?? Looks like something is supposed to slide over it, ...tubing of some sort?? Anyone??

Man...your picture is so dinky that I can barely tell what it is. On mine, that V shape part (under the wiper arm) that you are talking about is sitting much lower and appears to be a "guide" for the wiper blade to move with the arm.

i circled what i think you are tryin to point at, if thats it then hmm ill look at it in the morning but i think it supposed to slid down and the whiper blade slids in side it when it is tucked away i may be wrong like i said i have to take a look at tomorrow but thats my best guess so far.

I think it's just a mounting tab to secure the wind spoiler to the blade assembly. That's it, nothing more

Your wiper blade is supposed to stay in between those v-shaped latches/tab.

...So you are saying it's a 'capture' for the wiper blade?? Dunno...why does it have serrations on either side of it? Those serrations are there for some purpose, eh?...Go on, go outside and look at your X...you'll see it, it's about 3/8 an inch long...WTF....

I think your riddle is solved...there is a plastic clip that you are missing...the teeth are meant to grasp the plastic clip, which is, as suggested above, part of a windshield wiper guide. Lift your blades up and you will see another matching tab with teeth on it. The clip you need is a "U" shaped piece of black plastic.
