Is It A Lamp--Or a HANDLE....??

...So my bonehead SA at the stealership is trying to tell me that my door handle, which holds a small lamp, is a lamp, not a door handle.....comprende'?...the little plexi fixture imbedded in the back of the door handle has broken, making it unable to hold the lamp in the proper position for the light to refract down the plexi tube thingymajigy correctly. SA is saying because it holds a light, it is considered a lamp, which CPO Warranty does not cover. I say it's a broken door handle, suspiciously broken in it's last visit to said stealer. Now, I'm not one to name names,.......

BUT IT WAS GLEN AT BHBMW.....ooops, cats outta the bag....

....What do you guys think??

well, as per realoem and label on the box that i
have from this same part, it's a handle. check
out part #10 here.

lamp - n. A device that generates light, heat
or therapeutic radiation.

technically, the part that is generating the light
is part #10 here.

The light tubes are fragile but I've learned that plastic model cement can repair them as good as new. So unless you are under warranty, give it a try.

....and hey Broknlgs24, my ride is a 3.0, not a 4.6is....I'm sure BMW considers the handle is a lamp on a lowly CPO'd 3.0.....

no problem. it's all good.

as for the model glue, the problem is, if MDK's issue
is like mine, the spot in which it broke was no longer
clear. the ends themselves became somewhat cloudy.
so, model glue did not work for me.
