Slight chirping from airvents?

I have a 2002 X5 Sport 3.0 w/60K. As I was driving today I heard a slight low level chirping sound from the front of the dash area, possibly from the air vents. As I accelerate the sound intensifies (not in level but in intensity).

Anybody experience this before?

odd, haven't heard of that issue before. Are you under the 100K warranty?

I notice that every now and then in my X as well. Might be alternator noise coming through the speakers that sounds like it's coming from the vents. I used to get that through my aftermarket system in my old car. That usually happens when speaker wires and/or RCAs are run next to power lines. I separated the two in my old car and the whine went away. Not sure how the X is wired, but maybe they didn't keep power wires away from the speaker cables. Or it could be air being forced through the vents, kinda like when you crack your window slightly, the air forced in intensifies as you go faster.

No warranty. And I just kicked out $1K for an auxilary fan replacement.

But I did just pay my X off!

Update.

The chirping has ceased since the original incident. The alternator noise theory sound like it may have been the case.

I'll keep the board updated if it returns.

Thanks for the responses.
