4.6 is off factory Warranty - time to mod! looking for good info on ECU/exhaust..

New to this forum - but have been through the car mods before (2000 porsche 996 is exactly how I want it now ;-) ) Well... as far as you can go w/o adding psi's to the intake

Now its my X5's turn! I am looking for good threads on: cold air/ECU software/exhaust - maybe tranny programs too. I looked at the current threads, but they all look fairly recent (4.8). Is there an archive or can someone direct me to info on this. Thanks!

:xoutpost: There are some articles on the home page specific to the 4.6is including some info on supercharging by ESS and Dinan. As far as intakes I think there are a couple from Gruppe M and Dinan. Exhausts include choices from Eisenmann, Dinan, and modifying your current exhaust.

I think the best place for you to start is with this article featuring Art's ex-4.6is. (He sold it to buy a Z8.) I have seen and heard this X5 in person. It is awesome. Another good 4.6is is the more extreme Dinan supercharged 4.6is of KirkX5. He also did Brembo big brakes.

I also don't believe you that your 996 is exactly how you want it. There's always something else....

Thanks Kevin! True on the 996, but the X5 is gretting jealous - need to keep both my babies happy
