Fog Lamp Bsae Problem

If anybody is going to change there fog lamp bulbs for one reason or another I suggest you take out the bulb and look at the base before trying to order. The manual says H11-55 watts as so do the suppliers. The H11 has a solid diameter base while the ones they are putting in the X3,at least mine, build date 4/6/06, the base of the bulb has 3 equaly spaced notches in it. They also use 2 Torx head screws to hold in the fog lamp not 3 Phillips head screws. Good luck
cheers

You certainly went through a lot of unessesary work to change the color of your fog lights. Did it make them more useful?

Rick I couldn't change the Bulbs because the base wouldn't fit into the lens so I had to send them back. They said they were going to get intouch with a BMW dealer to see if there was a production change and there might be a possibility the part is no longer H11-55 watts.
cheers
