Business cd radio with separete Mp3 radio Dvd player,is it possible?

I am an italian newbee,so hi to all.

I have a question for my 2003 X5.
I tried to post this thread in another section of the forum, but a member suggest me to try here.

I have not a nav system on it (I have a TomTom) but only the business cd radio;I'd like to have a dvd video system on it also with the use of mp3 file;can I install it with the possibilty to use the steering wheel control for mp3 file?
I have to remove the business cd radio? I prefer not because of computer control.

Is it possible?

Thanx,Marco

Marco,

What do you want to use for a video screen? For what you are asking - it might be better to sell the Tom Tom and get the Pioneer AVIC series system instead.

I am going to install a Kenwood or JVC with all in one (mp3-dvd-lcd,similiar to the pioneer avic) to replace the business cd radio, like one of these:

JVC KW-AVX706
Jvc KD-AV7001
kenwood KVT-627DVD

Is it possible to keep the steering wheel control, with these radio?
Is it also possible(but I suppose not) to leave the radio on for controlling only the computer, without damage the electronic system of the car ?

I use the TomTom on PDA(that I use for work)with the gps bluetooth,so I can't sell it.

Thanx,Marco

As long as the radio has a remote IR, a PAC SWI can be used for the steering wheel control - there will be no damage to the vehicle.
