Question

CD player question

I have a 2002 X5 3.0i. I was using my cd player, i do not have the cd changer, and i noticed that it would make crackling noises. I find this very odd, and I do not know what to make of it. I would greatly appreciate any suggestions. Could this be related to a problem with the battery? Or is my stereo starting to die??
