Steering wheel upgrade worth it?

Can anyone give me their opinion as to whether upgrading to the 4.8 sport steering wheel is worth it from the stock wheel? I'm debating whether to spend the $$$ on the upgrade, big difference/feel/look? Thank you in advance.

The current '06 4.8 steering wheel looks just like a '04+ 4.4 sport package wheel (I've had both models). I think they are exacty the same. The older 4.6 wheel had a split lower spoke and matching wood grain or titanium trim. Maybe someone else knows for sure.

I have the M wheel and it is one of the best mods I've done, no question about it.

I went to a stock heated wheel. Really good mod!

If you do the mod you must upgrade to the M wheel with paddle shifters...you won't be sorry (I think its the SMGII wheel for 2004s and up although someone else may know for sure).

The only two original SMG wheels that are available are the e46 SMG wheel which will fit, the other wheel is the SMG e60 M5 or M6 wheel (both the same) but I dont think they will fit or should I say no one has achived this mod yet for any other vehicle other than the e60.

Do you have a 3 spoke sport wheel now or a 4 spoke premium wheel?? If 3 spoke, then ~$350 for a new "M" wheel will be the best mod money you ever spent on your X5
