I've got a short in my instrument cluster

Dropped the X off at the dealer yesterday. Even after they changed the steering rack, I still wasn't happy with the front end. Too much play in the steering wheel and I was all over the road when hitting any kind of bump or uneven road seam. Anyway, as I was leaving I mentioned that I was hearing a surging noise while idling. They just called, the front end is done, some kind of bushings. They said that the electical surge I heard was due to a short in the instrument cluster and they will replace. Are they going to rip my dashboard apart. Anyone else have this one happen?

Replacing the cluster is easy. They should be done in 15 minutes. No surgery required. You can relax.

I do take good care of her. Service advisor said I was lucky I heard it before things started going haywire. She'll be ready Friday and I'm off of work. Might take the opportunity to test drive the E70 and the 650

Doesn't bother me SG, She goes back Jan 08. It's funny, I was just considering keeping her since I'm not loving the E70 and she has been pretty trouble free.
