Transmission Type 03 X5 GM or BMW?

I read somewhere I could have a GM transmisson in my 03 X5. Is there anyway to confirm this? I checked VIN ID and it states transmission unknown!

My pdf chart only goes through 2002, but it shows
the V8s all have the ZF trans, while the 3.0 IL 6 has
the GM trans, as do several other species of BMWs.

Your moniker doesn't show which motor you have...

I wouldn't wring my hands over either one; I hope you
aren't spending Thanksgiving Day sweating bullets and
getting cranked over what brand of trans is in your X.

Pretty much all the I-6 X5s and all the X3s have the GM transmission. The ZF automatic was in the V8 models.
