CD changer or the AC is running the battery down.

Hi All,

1.Can the CD changer run the battery down when the car is off?

Or can the AC be the real culprit?

Because i still have this problem that my car is ruining the battery down but only when it is not in use.

2.I have now got on my x5 the TV.

Now I would like to install a camera for reversing but how can I choose, I can buy on ebay for as little as 21pounds UK pounds.

But it is from Hong Kong and dos not seem to have a make, have a look and any one thinks I should not buy this let me know, any one who can tell me a good make, and not too expensive let me know.
I live in Europe so must be able to get here.

Thanks,

Justin

How old is the battery? Maybe it needs to be replaced?

Check the voltage on it. You can use the internal battery voltage meter using the hidden menus:

Mine is at 11.6V .

The batt in new 3weeks ago Bosh, and i have tested the batt with a guy who dos that type of thing and it is all normal. when the engine is on 13v to 14v.
but when the engen is not on i was told it should be at about o.5v. Now it is at about 0.45 nothing ruining.

So not knowing y i have been told to take out the fuse for the CD changer and nav and(i was told to do this, the nav and cd changer seems to be running after i have turnd off the engen) for now the x5 is ok runing normal,up in the morning OK. The test is from Sunday till now so it may be that, but i relay do not know yet i will keep you posted.

I was told that 0.45v is not rely so much that it will run the batt to dead as the batt is new.

But i realy do not think this is y and i will have a look at the fan to night on the ac to see if this is a problem.

thanks,
