Be Careful on the Roads Today!

Just got back from driving my girlfriend to the bus stop. We live in Northern Jersey, she takes a bus to NYC.

Anyway the X did awesome with my winter tire setup. Everything was going good, was on my way home, stopped at a red light.......and BAM, I get bumped from behind.......by a friggin F250 with a plow on the front?! Damage isnt that bad......basically the edge of plow hit the right corner of my rear bumper. There is a deep gouge about 6 inches long that will need to be filled, smoothed, and the whole thing repainted. Got a police report and all his info.....Im thankful because I know things could have been worse.......but man that is annoying! And to get hit by a guy who is supposed to be clearin the roads is kind of ironic huh??

Just be careful guys and girls.........our trucks may be able to handle the bad weather, but you can't guarantee everyone else on the road will be as successful.

cmyX6go will become famous soon enough
I'm sitting out the morning rush. I live in NY and work in central NJ. I just made an executive decision and declared a late start today. Hopefully most of the yahoos will be off the road by the time I leave.

I too drove my wife to the ferry in Weahalken this morning. Some towns do better than others with plowing and salting. This was my first test of the X with my winter setup as well (18" with Pirei ice/snow) and she did as well as expected.

JS - where in north NJ are you I'm in Ridgefield...

Be safe everyone...

cmyX5go.....thats a good plan, let them clear the roads a bit more, and let most of the morning rush go by. Be safe!

Trainer.....im in Wayne, the main highways were in pretty good shape, but the side roads are a mess.

Im working from home today. I just hope she can get out early so I can avoid the evening commute trying to pick her up. And I hope this ice doesnt get any worse. Anyway, be safe everyone.

we got around an inch of freezing rain/sleet and a little snow. It's basically a pile of ice

I am too afraid to attempt to go anywhere as I am afraid to X will slide and hit a tree getting out of my driveway which is about 1/8 of a mile long.

Working from home today. Live in CT and drive into Westchester normally. It's not so much the snow/ice I mind, it's all the traffic problems that come along with it, my drive time doubles in weather like this.
