starting in the morning....
When you start in the morning and put the gear to D.........the car seems to take some time before responding / moving forward. Even if you depress the gas pedal, there is no reaction from the car. The RPM goes up but the car does not seem to move. Does it mean trouble on the horizon? Car is a 03 Oct 3.0L Appreciate any feedbacks. |

Funny you should ask. A co-worker asked me the same question today.
He is experiencing this with his 2003 X5 3.0 with 32K miles.

thanks noncom23 for the valuable input. I have noted the TIS and will check with my stealer on this.
Cheers! |

Ditto on the TSB. Actually for the X3 with 3.0i and 5AT, the earliest production ones had their transmission replaced since it was faulty. It may be a similar situation with you.

Noted the same situation about X3. I have contacted my dealer and they said that they will check on it and respond. Anyone that has done such a replacement with their dealers before? Care to share your experience and how it was done and what did they do to rectify the problem?
Appreciate any feedback so that I can use it opposite my dealer. Thanks in advance.......... |

i just got my X back from the dealer two days ago, and they upgrade the transmission software to fix a hesitation. it seems like there's an error in the "transmission code." i noticed that if you switch gears on the transmission, it does react slow too. i haven't linked it to cold weather, but i know what you're talking about. i'm not sure if your problem is mechanical or electronic, but you can try upgrading the transmission software (should be free at the dealer)...it makes the car drive like a completely different car

cool news wabbit. I will check with my dealer on this upgrade. But I needed to lock in my complain just in case they try to escape by default.
Noted that the transmission upgrade makes the car drive like a new car. Can you spare more details into this? |

i didn't have too much of a chance to test out all the performance. but so far this is what i noticed: when i go uphill, i don't have to press on the gas as much as before, now it's just a normal tap (very nice), MPG is a little less (at least that's what i feel, but i have a feeling i'm wrong about this) because it seems to have the power on deck and ready to be unleashed. the upgrade just changed the dynamics of the vehicle and it's soooooo much better now
i'll test it more tomorrow (especially sport and manual) when i'm going back home from school

cool. I would like to know more about this software upgrade on the transmission and how it affects the overall drive.
Looking forward........ |
