Suprise from dealer

Dropped the X of for an oil service, mentioned to service manager that I was not happy with the scratching on the black insert on the steering wheel (see pic) it seemed to be peeling off. Apparently this is common. Anyway picked up the car to find it had been replaced with a brand new one at NO CHARGE.

Yeah, warranty covers that. Its a very common thing on those plastic covers. They replaced mine last month. During the same visit, they also replaced the plastic door handle on the inside driver side door...it had scratched as well, I guess from constant contact with the ring on the finger whent he door was pulled.

same thing happened to our 06. It was peeling at about 5000 miles, its crazy that with all the testing they do with these cars they woundnt notice something like this and make a fix before production. Even after its been out since 04 and the same problem is happening on a 2006 model.

Mine has just started to peel, and my warranty expired back in december!!!
