Got New Trim....Lost My Wood....

Sorry Girls, not whut ya think........Well, I have always disliked the dark poplar (or 'popular' as known by some of our resident challenged ones...) trim on my '01 3.0, particularly the trim on the steering wheel....I spent about four hours lacing a noice leather cover over the original leather sports wheel (with the trim that is forked at the bottom), but was still feeling like that part belonged on some other car....I found a black one on Ebay, and with X5Monkey's tutorial, I was able to manuever about and firmly insert the fine new piece of trim, instantly loosing my wood. Note to all: not all sports trim pieces are a universal fit...my new trim required that I exacto out some rubber on the wheel to allow for a flush fit. Airbag removal was testy...pulled the fuse first, then Monkey's 2 screwdriver method was applied....after a bit of pushing and pulling, bag popped out of the trim, and job was done in another 10 minutes....all totalled, about an hour of work.....I love my new trim.....but I've still got my wood where I want it....Name: trim 1.jpg
