Question Black Seats??

I owned a car with black seats once and I said never again due to how hot they get in the summer. Now I am looking at a CPO sterling Grey X5 with black dakota leather seats. Anyone here have experience with these seats in the summer?

cmyX6go will become famous soon enough
If you lived in Florida, I'd understand. I have black leather in my Sterling Grey X. Do they get hot in the sun, yes. I still prefer the black over the lighter colors. I'll take my legs burning if she sits in the sun over trying to keep the lighter colors clean. I had light grey leather in my Black X and the seats were hard to keep clean. NEVER EVER wear new jeans with light colored leather seats...

Thanks for the reply. I think the CPO X5 I am looking at is exactly like yours and I hear you on the grey seats. That's what I have now.

I have these but I always put sheepskin on my seats so they aren't hot in summer or cold in winter.

You'll be fine. Tint your windows, tilt the moonroof, crack the windows open a hair, whatever. The effect of black versus temp doesn't really magnify the seat temps. If its hot, its hot.

Our X3 is white with gray, which is pretty ideal in the summer. However, that doesnt mean I won't burn myself any worse than my Lexus, which is white with black leather. Just use the convenience open feature, let some hot air out, and/or put a towel over the seat.

And yes, jeans with light leather is a no-no.
