E70 UK Safety Recall

Not sure if this has already been noted here, but I have just seen that a safety recall notice for X5 E70's was issued on 17th July 2007 on the UK Vehicle & Operators Safety Agency (VOSA) website (www.vosa.gov.uk) that says:

UK Recall Ref: R/2007/106

Description: DRIVER'S SEAT BELT MAY DE-LATCH:
It has been identified that in the event of a situation which requires activation of the driver's seat belt tensioner. The possibility exists that due to an unfavourable pulse within the seatbelt buckle tensioner mechanism, the buckle may open inadvertently.

Recalled vehicles will have the relevant electronic control units reprogrammed.

Production Period: 13/Nov/06 to 03/Apr/07
Number of vehicles affected: 1606

No idea if other parts of the world might be affected, but heads up all.
