Yeah, this is a pretty good deal. I was thinking of buying the same one a couple nights ago. I just don't know if its worth it. My mechanic told me that there won't be a difference, only in sound. Performance wise, nothing. BMW really has done all it can with the engine we have. There is really nothing more that we can do besides the "supercharger" that can give anyone performance that they are truly looking for. The only thing would be the sound. That is maybe worth something for some people. I'm still thinking about it. Maybe I'll pick it up just for the sound. GL.

Doesn't it at least save weight? To me that's a performance upgrade...

I have had that cat back exhaust setup for about 4.5 years now (see my custom X page). Man, I only paid $800 for mine back then . If I were you, I would only buy from an authorized dealer. The main benefit is looks, with a slightly better sound, that gets better over time.

In addition, the buy it now price in that auction, is not a "deal" at all. You can buy from Bav Auto for $1,019.00 + $55.85 shipping right now, and they ARE an authorized distributor/dealer.

Fitted a Hamann Cat back stainless 4 exit system about 3 years ago. Best mod ever. Brought off ebay

General comments:
All stainless so last forever
Looks way better with 4 tailpipes (2 was standard 3.0i sport)
Way better sound, but beware they can wake small children when starting them up...silent at cruise speed
Smaller boxes and lighter than standard

Forgive me if stating the obvious but you can buy the different size exhaust infill plates from BMW for a few $ to fit any size exhaust. They are interchangeable.

A mod I'd go with
