I was extremely impressed with the service dept at this dealership. Here is the story: I drove to NY on Friday night. When I got off the exit and came to a complete stop I noticed the engine idle was pretty rough. It was late and I was tired so I went to bed. The next morning the X started up fine but the idle was still very rough. I drove about a mile then SES light come on. I searched the NAV for the nearest BMW Center. It pointed me to Competition BMW of Smithtown.

I got there round 9:30am on Sat without an appointment. The receptionist was nice and friendly. I waited for about 2 minutes then the SA, Rudy, sat with me and I explained the issue. He tells me that he will have his tech look at it right away. He came back in about 20 minutes and told me that the problem was a bad Engine Harness. He said that he had the part in stock but the labor was a 10 hour job. He said that they close at 4:30PM because it was Sat so I will have to wait until Monday to get the vehicle repaired. He said that he would provide me with a vehicle until the repairs were completed.

I reluctantly agreed because I needed to get back to MA early Sunday for an important engagement. I made him aware of that fact. Then Rudy told me to wait until he checked one more thing. He came back about 3 minutes later and told me that they have decided to place 2 Techs to work on the car and that the repairs will be complete that day. He also provided me a free loner car so I did not have to waste the entire day sitting in the waiting area.

They fix the X (all items covered under warranty) and I picked it up just in time to make the Yankee/Detroit game at Yankee stadium. I got there in the 3rd inning but I did not mind.

Big-ups to Rudy and the entire Service Dept staff at Competition BMW in Smithtown Long Island NY. You guys rock.
