Transmission Shift Issues

Awhile back some E70 owners were discussing issues regarding the transmission during shifts. Does anyone know if a BMW service information bulletin (SIB) is out on this? Got an appt with the dealer this week for another issue (headlight washers quit) and they're clueless if I don't hand them something in writing. Thanks!

Can you be more specific, or reference a prior thread?

My problems seem to go away after a few thousand miles.

What are you experiencing? How many miles do you have?

Not a problem, read (maybe this board, might have been another) where there was an SIB regarding a software tweak for the transmission. The new algorithm gave it a smoother shift at varying speeds.

so yours does not shift smoothly?

I have a Nov 11 build and mine shifts very smooth. I had issues at low speed when I first bought mine...but dont notice those anymore. Never had an issue with it not shifting smoothly. But I do seem to recall that the service dept reprogrammed my trans at one point, I'll go back and look at my service tickets.

Mine has had the shifter control replaced and the SIB done, but it still seems to shift poorly. It will stick when going up a hill and you can usually feel the downshifts when slowing down. My dealer swears up and down that everything is normal, but it reminds me of when my slushbox was going out in my Ford Taurus SHO.

Found my service ticket, it says:
"Reprogrammed transmission Line 10"

not sure what that means, but my transmission is smooth as owl sh*t.
