My 2004 4.4i X5...

...hereafter known as 'The Lemon'.

Wife gets home tonite, and mentions that the front of the Lemon was 'bouncing' up and down on the drive home. She pulls over, check the tires, everything looks fine. She drives slowly home, it's ok.

I go out and check, and in the time she walks from the Lemon to the house and get's me, the front of the Lemon has sunk down and is now resting on the front tires. Great. Air suspension is toast. I've called BMW, they're coming to get it - the first guy that showed up, he had a flatbed - that won't work, since they'll damage the fenders when the pull it up onto the truck. A conventional tow truck is on the way....

Oh, did I mention that this is the THIRD time in the last 2 1/2 months that the Lemon has had to be towed to the dealership for repairs?

It's gotten to the point where we don't even drive the Lemon outside the city, for fear of something breaking. We've decided that once this problem is fixed, it's being sold. I'm sorry, but the Lemon is just not a quality vehicle. I plan on hunting down the sales guy that sold it to me, and giving him a complete earful - it won't accomplish anything, but at least I'll feel a bit better. For a while.

My 330ci (which I purchased new in 2002) has been a great vehicle. But this one? What a piece of sh*t. Sorry for venting, but if I don't vent, I'm going to explode

Sorry to hear about your troubles, but I've got a completely opposite situation, the '06 330Cic is a piece of junk, while the '05 X5 4.4i has been awesome . . . . I guess we win on some and loss on others . . . .

Yeah, that's a bummer. I've cooled off a bit, but we'll see what the dealership is going to do for us...I'm looking for a replacement vehicle, since this one obviously has some serious issues. I'm not holding my breath, however.
