No prob, imo...I use a 2 ton and have lifted mine several times.
Easy jack point in front; the rear requires some careful placement. I use a piece of old plywood wedged in on lift point cup on rear susp. arm, close in to the rear diff. I've even used the rear diff a few times, gingerly. Never any problem, lifting and holding it...but, if you are going under, I rec'd jack stands. Be careful, good luck. BR,mD

The 2 jack should be plenty good since you're only lifting a quarter or at most half of the car. As mD indicated, always use jack stands as safety backup.

I use my 2 ton jack to lift one complete side of my X5 at a time. But I always use jack stands before I go under the car. By the way, I noticed that my jack was made in China after I bought it. I am going to replace it for a made in USA jack someday.

i think mines 2.5 and its fine. i have had no issues even lifting the front half of the car which is the heaviest with the engine and all :O
