extended warranty

I looked and am sorry if I am not seeing a more comprehensible thread but:

I bought a 2005 4.4 (my first BMW) that was not CPO (got too good of a deal) and am looking at the aftermarket warranties.

Does anyone have specific experience with warrantydirect ?

How about GE Capital ?

Any others to recommend ?

I am trying to get as much done within the factory warranty before it expires in 9 months. I am leary of the cooling system and transmission most of all based on posts I have read.

Thanks,

Matt

Search on Warranty Direct. It's definitely received the best reviews.

I don't have it but many people here have warranty direct and seem to be happy with it - do a search on 'aftermarket warranty' and 'warranty direct' - lots of info there.

FWIW I would not own one of these beasts either out of warranty - especially for the big ticket items.

thanks for the replies - I swear I searched but maybe it was another forum. I'm gonna go with warranty direct, I believe.

I had Warranty Direct on a previous vehicle and would give them double thumbs up. Had several issues that they took care of with no problems. Only caution is sometimes the service location want to give you a hassle since you did not buy the extended warranty from them - what do they care, they are getting paid for the work! Don't let them even go there. Good luck.

I found 132 matches when I did a search on "warranty direct". Did you search from the X5world level or just in the E53 forum?

It must have been another board - bimmerfest or some such. i just searched for extended warranty before and kept getting stuff on the maintenance agreement.

I appreciate everyone's input.

you mean the one that says "

extended service contract product that offers extended protection exclusively to the original BMW
retail purchaser or leasing customer
