I don't think they are prewired. When you a buy kit it comes with all the wiring that runs from front to back.

some people have done it. I think you'll have to run the wires through the side panelling. I am not 100% sure though since mine came with Nav.

I dont think it comes prewired. Mine also came with the nav. Try the link blk133 provided.

i have done retrofit on 3 e46 cars and my X came with it, but checking the DIY, it's pretty much the same. Running the wires is the most time consuming part of it since you need to remove the driver's and rear seats, side panels, cluster, radio dash, etc. It's fun though. Just give yourself a day.
