Will pirelli 265/40/22 and 305/35/22 fit or will it be to big to clear. I am realy not that worried about the speedo

too big....you cant have 40 series tires on 22's on the X....I have 40 series on 20's...

Actually you can..i have 265/40/22 and they clear fine on a 22" wheel w an ET of 45 to 20mm. I am also lowered and have no rubbing issues. Speedo will be slow by a few mph's though.
