X5 won't start

Hey guys-

Last week I purchased my first 2003 BMW X5; everything working well when I bought it.

Though, when I got it home, the radio completely stopped working. The navigation screen turned on and worked, but the radio would not even turn on.

The mechanic said my radio was completely dead. So, we purchased a brand new navigation console and replaced the old one. RADIO STILL DIDN'T WORK.

Since it obviously wasn't the radio console, we decided to try and unplug the battery. Of course you can't get to the battery so we just unplugged the positive charge and plugged it back in.

But, when I went to start the car, it wouldn't turn over. The lights came on and when I would turn the key, nothing happened.

SO! Next we tried to jump start the car and when I turned the key to the on position, the radio turned on! BUT the car wouldn't start. All the electronics and lights came on but when I turned it past the ON slot the lights would flash on and off rapidly. We've let it sit, made sure everything is working...

ANY IDEAS AT ALL?

Step # 1
Check your battery voltage.

TaMbALoLoNg is an unknown quantity at this point
If this is happening after only 1 week from purchase. I would talk to the dealer. That's a bad sign.

Sounds like thye battery terminal isn't fully tight... wherever you disconnected power from, double check there and make sure it is completely tight with NO movement. There are soo many control modules in these things you don't want funky power.
